Underground utility services

Four ways to get a line in the ground. We pick the one that keeps the site open, the existing utilities safe and the cleanup short.

Directional drilling

Our core work. Current Ditch Witch and Vermeer drills bore under roads, driveways and lawns with the surface left untouched between pits. Short service runs to long-haul fiber.

Trenching

Open-cut installation where it makes sense, with every neighboring utility protected while we dig. When we leave, the cleanup is finished.

Fiber pulling

We pull or blow fiber, whichever the job calls for, and proof existing duct runs first with air-driven mandrels or pushing rodders.

Plowing

We pre-rip the ground, then run the plow back through to lay conduit at exactly the depth you specify.

Not sure which method?

Tell us what is going in, where it starts and where it ends. We'll recommend the method that fits the ground and costs the least to restore, and explain why.

Most jobs mix methods: a bore under the road, a short trench to the building, fiber pulled through once the duct is in.

How a bore runs

Four steps, one crew

The same sequence on every directional bore, so you always know what is happening on your site.

STEP 1

Locate

811 ticket called and every existing line marked before a single pit is dug.

STEP 2

Pilot bore

The drill head is tracked and steered under the obstacles on the planned path.

STEP 3

Ream & pull

The hole is opened to size and your conduit or pipe is pulled back through.

STEP 4

Restore

Pits filled, surface restored, site swept. We leave it the way we found it.
